ACROSS THE HOUSTON AREA

MAY 18, 2024    I    MEMORIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST  |   900 ECHO LN. HOUSTON, TX 77024

REGISTRATION

We have the power to make a positive impact on others by sharing our resources, talents, time, encouragement, wisdom, experiences, and faith. While it can be challenging to express our beliefs, especially in a professional setting, it's important to make it a natural part of our lives.

Join us on May 18, as Vincenzo Cox shares how he incorporates his faith story into his interactions with those he's around.

We will have three sessions along with table discussion.
Schedule
8:30 - Breakfast
9:00 - Session 1
Warming Up
What we think in our mind determines what we do.  If our mind says no, we’re finished before we’ve started.  A mindset of faith, even a small amount, will allow us to be mountain movers.
(Followed with table discussion)
10 minute break

10:00 - Session 2
In The Moment
Having the mindset and living out our faith is who we should be.  In some way, being an ambassador for Jesus everywhere we go, whatever we do and whoever we are around.
(Followed with table discussion)
10 minute break

11:00 - Session 3
Follow Through
It’s not about me; it’s about doing what’s right and pleasing God.  Focusing on Jesus helps us do the small things that encourage and makes a difference in those around us.
(Followed with table discussion)

Closing Thoughts

12:00 - End

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Not many people can be an Olympic-caliber hurdler and a professional-caliber soccer player and coach, but Vincenzo is just that.  The Miami, Florida native and US Army Veteran never wanted to be a soccer coach, but he is now a State Champion and a National Coach of the year.  At one point in his collegiate career, he held the third-fastest 400-meter hurdle time in University of Houston history and still holds the sixth-best mark and fifth-fastest time.  Vincenzo has played professionally with the Houston Hurricanes and is working towards securing the prestigious UEFA Soccer License (Union of European Football associations) as a volunteer assistant for the woman’s soccer team at Houston Christian University.

"Now I get to install those same qualities I learned at the University of Houston into my students and my athletes.  As the boys’ soccer coach at Alief-Elsik High School, the world class standard Coach Tellez installed in me is what I install in my team.  But it’s the impact off the field that I know I have the largest ability to influence these young minds and hope they can make this world a better place."  Vincenzo Cox
